Respect is an innovative, membership based UK-wide domestic violence charity. We provide a range of highly regarded accredited services; programmes; training; and research – all of which support those perpetrating violence but also helping victims (male and female) of domestic violence. We are renowned for taking on challenging issues, testing new ways of working and finding creative solutions for what often seem intractable problems.
Respect is looking for an outstanding individual to become our next Chair. We are looking for someone with a passion and commitment to ending domestic violence, who will provide exceptional leadership, ensure good governance and help drive our strategic direction.
This is an exciting opportunity to steer the success of a young, growing , ambitious organisation that makes a profound and positive impact on the lives of women, men and children who have suffered from domestic violence.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about making a difference, not just in improving the lives of the individuals experiencing and perpetrating domestic violence, but in helping to create better public policy and bringing about social change. An interest in Respect’s work and approach are essential as well as an ambitious outlook for Respect’s future.
He/she will be well respected and have active networks in the public or private sectors, and will be able to bring these to their support of Respect’s work. The individual will have a proven track record of setting, agreeing and attending to an organisation’s strategy, and will bring financial literacy and business acumen. The Chair will be politically astute, act as a representative, and help to create and identify opportunities for Respect.
