Swan is seeking a new non-executive member who has previous experience in either the construction sector and/or property development to join its Development and New Business Committee to provide strategic direction and oversight over its trading subsidiaries:  Vivo Support Ltd; HERA Management Services and nu Living.
 
Background
Swan Housing Association Limited was formed in 1998 and currently owns and manages over 10,000 properties in East London and Essex.  In the year to March 2015, the Swan Group reported an annual turnover of £82m, and investment in new homes of £45m. Investment and growth continues to be a core aim of the Group.
Swan’s overarching mission is to deliver effective services, enterprising solutions, and exemplary homes and communities. At the centre of our mission is the Group’s growth plans in terms of increasing the supply of high quality affordable and private homes as well as becoming a leader in regenerating communities.

The role

Swan Housing is seeking a new non-executive member to join its Development and New Business Committee to provide strategic direction and oversight over its trading subsidiaries:
Vivo Support Ltd; HERA Management Services and nu Living.

The Development and New Business Committee was established to oversee the development of new homes within the Group and to explore new business streams. The Committee oversees the development of property and assets, special projects and the undertaking of new business initiatives.

The Committee also advises on developing new growth strategies for consideration by the Board and monitors the performance of the Group’s development, construction and sales programmes and of VIVO Support Ltd and HERA Management Services Ltd.

Swan is looking for a committee member who has previous experience in either the construction sector and/or property development.

Term and remuneration

The appointment is for a three-year term and is remunerated at £5,000 per annum plus reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.
