Recruiting Talent, Developing Leaders

We are experts in board and senior executive recruitment and senior placements. Whether you are a charity – large or small, an NHS Trust or a Housing Association, we can help you find talented non-executives, trustees or executives to meet your exact needs. We combine the commercial approach of the private sector with the core values and beliefs of the public and the not-for-profit sector to bring the best results.

We pride ourselves in our skills and our success, and we believe that great recruitment comes from listening, appreciating your work; understanding the criteria required and having the skills to find the candidate you are looking for.

How we do it

We undertake senior level executive and board level recruitment on behalf of a range of organisations in the not-for-profit sector. We recognise that every organisation and every assignment is unique and that there is no ‘one size fits all’ solutions or packages. We will work with you to design and tailor a recruitment solution to meet your specific needs, including budget, timescales and resources.

Process and Research

Backed by our values, the key attributes for delivering exceptional shortlists and high calibre appointments are down to thorough processes, expert candidate research and our extensive networks across the public, private and not-for-profit. sectors. We have outlined below the key stages in our search which ensure that we deliver success

Search and Attraction

A thorough briefing is crucial. We spend time with you to build the deepest possible understanding of your priorities as an organisation, and develop a detailed profile of the position. At this stage we will also prepare a full recruitment schedule and a research and candidate attraction strategy (as appropriate). At the briefing we also discuss the final interview and assessment stages of the process.

Preparing the Brief

A thorough briefing is crucial. We spend time with you to build the deepest possible understanding of your priorities as an organisation, and develop a detailed profile of the position. At this stage we will also prepare a full recruitment schedule and a research and candidate attraction strategy (as appropriate). At the briefing we also discuss the final interview and assessment stages of the process.

Longlist and Interviews

After the official closing date, a longlist of the most suitable candidates will be selected and alongside the client. We carry out either face-to-face, competency based interviews with each candidate or a telephone briefing with the candidate. Following these assessments we will meet with the client again, present interview reports and discuss the candidates to determine who will be shortlisted for the final stages.

Response handling

We offer efficient, customer-focused administrative support to the recruitment process – everything from fielding initial enquiries to arranging interviews.

  • Collating and preparing application packs
  • Dealing with candidate enquiries and sending application packs
  • Proof-reading returned applications
  • Sending closing date reminders
  • Collating, copying and returning completed applications
  • Arranging interviews and sending rejection letters
  • Equal opportunities data monitoring

Candidate Management

We strive to ensure that all of the candidates who apply for our roles are kept up to date with the latest status of their applications. Nobody likes to be left hanging, especially if you are waiting for a role that you are keen to have, which is why we take our communication seriously and ensure that all of our candidates are kept informed at every step of their application.

Interviews

The final interviews are extremely important, and we are available to support you throughout this process and often advise on structure and content. Once a candidate has been selected we are able to support our clients in offers, negotiations and referencing. Importantly, we also notify unsuccessful candidates, ensuring they receive constructive feedback and take away a positive view of their recruitment experience and your organisation.

Appointment and aftercare

We know how important it is that the appointee benefits from a successful onboarding process to their new role. We keep in touch with both client and successful candidate, and where appropriate will recommend networks to the appointee and make introductions.
